Paper #12: Some miscellaneous additional matters
1. Purpose:
In Points 2 to 9 below, I deal with some miscellaneous additional matters relating to our health.
And in Point 11 below, I list some of the matters to which I have given thought but have not yet included in the papers. This list (with information on some of them roughly sketched) will serve as a reminder to me to add a full explanation of these matters when time permits.
............
2. Stress:
Major or prolonged stress is a killer .. it is extremely harmful to health.
In my view, a person's level of stress ranks #2 after their genes in determining whether they are likely to enjoy good health or suffer poor health.
Each of us needs to ensure that we minimise our stress. And each of us needs to ensure that we do not cause major or prolonged stress to others.
In most cities in the developed world, today's mother of young children or teenage children is often placed under excessive stress .. in my view, a much greater level of stress than was experienced by her mother or other maternal forebears except during times of war, famine, pestilence (plague), economic depression or other major catastrophe. This excessive stress poses significant risks to the woman's physical and mental health, including the risks of early ageing, early menopause and early death. It also poses significant risks to her relationship with her children, her relationship with her husband/partner, and her own happiness.
The level of stress experienced by many of these mothers is the result of two main factors: (1) Because of economic necessity, having to earn an income (preferably a high income, and thus a full-time job) in order to cope with a very high mortgage debt relating to the purchase of a modest or fairly modest family home at an astronomical price*, and (2) Being told (and believing) that today's mother can have her cake and eat it: "You can be a top lawyer/doctor/whatever and work long hours and earn a lot of money .. AND .. you can still be a top mother to your children .. you can still be a loving wife/partner to your husband/partner .. you can still exercise to keep in good physical shape .. you can still have metime for yourself to keep in good mental and emotional shape .. you can still have all the sleep you need .. and you can still ...".
*Note: In my view, these astronomical home prices in most cities in the developed world are the result of incorrect government and central bank economic policies since the early 1970s.
............
3. Sleep:
A chronic or prolonged lack of sleep is also a killer.
In my view, the amount of regular and long sleep that a person obtains ranks #3 after their genes and their level of stress in determining whether they are likely to enjoy good health or suffer poor health.
Long and deep sleep, every night, is essential for good health .. and a brief nap in the afternoon can also be very beneficial.
You need to go to bed sufficiently early, so there is no need for the alarm on your phone or clock to wake you in the morning.
It is very important to wake up NATURALLY .. that is, at the time your body tells you, not at the time your alarm tells you.
You can achieve this by setting the alarm for one hour AFTER you expect to have awoken naturally.
To achieve a long and deep sleep, I recommend against having any coffee or tea after about midday. But obviously decaffeinated coffee or tea (assuming the caffeine level is zero) is fine.
............
4. Diet:
Our diet has a major effect on our health.
A lot has been written about diet .. most of which I agree with but fail to follow.
Three points stand out for me:
(1) Fat or obese people: If you look at people aged say 75 plus, there are very few who are fat and hardly any who are obese. So, it is clear that being fat or obese shortens your normal life expectancy because, amongst other things, it causes cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular disease .. which results in heart attacks and strokes .. is regarded by medical science as today’s #1 killer* in the developed parts of the world.
*Note: I would rate major or prolonged stress and chronic or prolonged lack of sleep as killers that rank ahead of cardiovascular disease. See Points 2 and 3 above.
(2) Varied natural diet: It is important that your diet is varied and natural .. that is, lots of different foods which are natural (not processed), to ensure your body is able to obtain all the different chemical elements, vitamins and other nutrients it needs. These are the same ones that your microorganisms need and, if they cannot obtain them from the waste products and surplus products in your body, they are then likely to obtain them by sucking them from your body's cells (see Paper #9) or by eating parts of your body (see Paper #10).
(3) Sugar: I think sugar is bad for the health of most people. And I also think that foods which convert easily to sugar are bad for the health of most people.
Because the diet of our predecessor species and our early and later homo ancestors did not include sugar .. or included only a little sugar .. today's body has great difficulty in successfully processing it.
Today's enormous consumption of sugar* and foods that convert easily to sugar** causes high blood sugar levels and thus diabetes .. a major killer in developed countries.
*Note: Sugar is in many non-sweet-tasting processed foods.
**Note: Many processed foods do this.
............
5. Exercise:
Gentle exercise, on a regular basis, is very beneficial to health.
In particular, walking is very beneficial. Our predecessor species and our early, later, and more recent homo ancestors did a lot of walking.
In my view, vigorous exercise is not beneficial for most people .. and it often causes harm.
............
6. Hangovers:
If you are going to drink a lot of alcohol (I strongly advise against this), the ingestion of activated charcoal* (also called activated carbon and medicinal charcoal), say 5,000 milligrams immediately prior to drinking and say 10,000 milligrams immediately after drinking .. that is, a total of 15,000 milligrams (75 capsules of 200 milligrams each or 60 tablets of 250 milligrams each) .. will prevent a hangover in the morning.
*Note: Please refer to Paper #7 in relation to activated charcoal.
The toxins from the alcohol bond with the carbon in the activated charcoal and are passed out through the digestive system, instead of being taken into the body.
It is for this reason that activated charcoal is used in hospital emergency departments to treat many types of poisonings and overdoses caused by the ingestion of a toxic substance.
As stated in Point 4 of Paper #7, it is very important to first check with your Doctor before having any activated charcoal. And please refer to the specific warnings in relation to activated charcoal in Point 6 of Paper #7; and also refer to Point 13 below.
............
7. Smoking:
I am not recommending smoking.
But, if you are a smoker then, every couple of weeks, you should decongest your lungs by deeply breathing in salty (table salt) steam and coughing.
You can do this by boiling water on the stove, adding some table salt, and then deeply breathing in the salty vapours and coughing. This will remove the remains of the cigarette smoke from your lungs, making it unlikely that you will develop emphysema or a similar congestive lung disease. Also see Point 11(i) below.
The same principles apply if you live in a polluted city, or if you work in an environment where the air is polluted .. you should remove this pollution from your lungs by deeply breathing in salty (table salt) steam and coughing.
............
8. Grey head hair:
As explained in Paper #6, the hair on our head takes in nutrients for the brain and central nervous system.
It is for this reason that, with age or with a major stress event including a major illness, our head hair turns grey .. that is, because the brain has sucked the nutrients (primarily carbon) from the hair, causing it to become grey.
I have been ingesting activated charcoal* for 10 years .. that is, from 2004 to now 2014.
*Note: Please refer to Paper #7 in relation to activated charcoal.
As a result, my brain has had lots of one of the key fuels it needs .. that is, carbon of the type that comes from the burning of wood or other pure organic matter .. and so my brain has not needed to suck in the carbon from my head hair.
The consequence of this ingestion of activated charcoal has been that, for the last 10 years, I have hardly grown any additional grey hair. And I am now aged 65 (2014).
The relatively small amount of grey hair that I do have was there BEFORE I began ingesting it. I was then aged 55 (2004).
The ingestion of activated charcoal stops head hair from turning grey because the brain is able to obtain all the carbon it needs from the activated charcoal .. and so it does not need to suck out the carbon from the head hair.
As stated in Point 4 of Paper #7, it is very important to first check with your Doctor before having any activated charcoal. And please refer to the specific warnings in relation to activated charcoal in Point 6 of Paper #7; and also refer to Point 13 below.
............
9. Components to our intellectual ability
In my view, there are eight main components to human intellectual ability.
They are the ability (consciously or unconsciously):
(1) To take in inputs from the physical senses of sight, hearing, taste, sense of smell, and touch .. and also, I think, from the non-physical senses (called extra-sensory perception, intuition, sensing, a feeling of somehow just knowing, or similar) which some of us can experience.
(2) To process and analyse the inputs in (1) .. so they are correctly understood.
(3) To place the inputs in (1) and the understandings in (2) in the memory.
(4) To connect the inputs in (1) and the understandings in (2) with the previous inputs and understandings stored in the memory in (3).
(5) To form views, judgements and conclusions based on the connected inputs and understandings in (4).
(6) To make decisions, formulate plans, gain new insights and imagine new things based on the views, judgements and conclusions in (5).
(7) To take actions (and non-actions) based on the decisions, plans, insights and imaginations in (6).
(8) To understand and connect with the physical world that surrounds us .. and also, I think, with the non-physical world* that surrounds us and which some of us can sense.
*Note: We see in three dimensions (the physical world) .. I think there are additional dimensions (the non-physical world) that we cannot see but which some of us can sense.

10. Need for medical research .. Points 2 to 9 above:
Because the ideas in Points 6, 7, 8 and 9 above are novel, they have not yet been examined and tested by medical science. And because some of the ideas in Points 2, 3, 4 and 5 above are novel, they have not yet been examined and tested by medical science.
It is my hope that these ideas will soon be examined and tested by medical research institutes, hospitals, university medical schools, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare companies, cosmetic companies, food companies (in relation to Point 4 above), alcoholic beverage companies (in relation to Point 6 above), cigarette companies (in relation to Point 7 above), and other organisations.
............
11. Additional matters:
There are many additional matters to which I have given thought but have not yet included in these papers.
I aim to do this when time permits.
Below is list (in no particular order) of SOME of these additional matters, including a brief explanation of some of them in DRAFT form.
Please note that below is a DRAFT only:
(a) Human intelligence: Re the increase in our intelligence (brain power) that has occurred over time, an explanation of why it is that .. in addition to the effects of taking in carbon from the ingestion of partly burnt wood and other pure organic matter (charcoal), from the ingestion of slightly charred food that had been cooked on an open fire, and from the breathing in of smoke from the burning of wood and other pure organic matter, as explained in Point 1 of Paper #7 .. it has been the mating decisions of our female (NOT our male) early, later and more recent homo ancestors which have been responsible for this increase in intelligence.
That is, it has been the COMBINATION of FOUR factors which has caused the increase in our intelligence over time:
(1) The intake of carbon from the ingestion of partly burnt wood and other pure organic matter (charcoal) .. see Point 1 of Paper #7, and
(2) The intake of carbon from the ingestion of slightly charred food that had been cooked on an open fire .. see Point 1 of Paper #7, and
(3) The intake of carbon from the breathing in of smoke from the burning of wood and other pure organic matter .. see Point 1 of Paper #7, and
(4) The mating decisions of our female (NOT our male) early, later and more recent homo ancestors.
Point 1 of Paper #7 explains (1) to (3) above .. I need to add the explanation for (4) above. See also Point 11(e) below.
....
(b) The anatomy of the human body: An explanation of my different view on a number of important aspects of how today's human body actually works which have not yet been included in these papers .. including my view that we have a gas system for taking away gases that are produced by our brain.
....
(c) Addiction to smoking: It is clear that smoking is extremely addictive. But query what is the chemical cause of the addiction? Medical science says that it is nicotine. But, if this is correct, why are nicotine patches, gums and sprays so difficult to sell?
Cigarettes are stored behind the counter, in order to prevent people from stealing them. When nicotine products first came out, they too were stored behind the counter because it was thought that people would also steal them. When this did not happen, the nicotine products were moved from behind the counter to the front of the counter. Yet, no one steals them, and almost no one buys them.
It is clear that smoking is extremely addictive. But it is also clear from the above that nicotine is not the culprit. So, what is the culprit .. that is, what is the true chemical cause of the addiction to smoking?
....
(d) Addictions generally: We are all addicted to air, food and water. Might a proper understanding of our addiction to these three essential and beneficial substances lead to an understanding of the addiction to substances such as heroin, marijuana, cocaine, ice, alcohol, tobacco and other non-essential and non-beneficial substances?
....
(e) Male sexuality and female sexuality: An explanation of the differences between male sexuality today and female sexuality today. These differences are the result of there having been TWO different evolutionary paths .. the one taken by our male forebears and the one taken by our female forebears. An understanding of these two paths enables us to gain a better understanding of male sexuality today and female sexuality today.
This explanation also enables us to understand why, as stated in Point 11(a) above, it has been the mating decisions of our female (NOT our male) early, later and more recent homo ancestors that (in combination with the intake of carbon from the burning of wood and other pure organic matter) have been responsible for the increase in our intelligence (brain power) over time.
And this explanation also enables us to understand why, for our human species, females (taken as a group) are more attractive than males (taken as a group); whereas this is not the case for almost all other animal species. For example, male birds are more attractive than female ones .. male fish are more attractive than female ones .. and male lions are more attractive than female ones.
....
(f) Contraception: An explanation of a possible new natural product for preventing conception.
....
(g) Jet lag: An explanation of my different view on the cause of jet lag .. and thus a different approach to preventing it from arising.
....
(h) Intellectual performance of females: An explanation of why it is that females (taken as a group) intellectually outperform males (taken as a group) up until approximately 18 years of age .. but not afterwards.
....
(i) Smoking and lung cancer: Statistics show a clear correlation between smoking and the incidence of lung cancer. In my view, there is definitely a link .. but it is not the causal link ("smoking CAUSES lung cancer") that medical science says it is. I am not suggesting we should smoke .. smoking is definitely harmful. Smokers are much more likely to develop lung cancer than non-smokers. But I do not agree with the science that says smoking "causes" lung cancer.
I think the microorganisms in the body of a smoker are drawn to their lungs because of the carbon from the cigarette smoke that is contained there and that also impregnates the cells of the lungs. If the microorganisms suck the carbon from these cells, this will kill or impair the cells. They will then be replaced by new cells. And, if the microorganisms then suck the carbon from the new cells, this will kill or impair the new cells .. and so on. As explained in Point 1 of Paper #9, this repeating process causes a lump of dead or impaired cells to form, which becomes larger and larger, a malignant tumour .. that is, lung cancer.
If research by medical science shows this explanation to be correct, then the incidence of lung cancer in smokers could be significantly reduced if they decongest their lungs on a regular basis (see Point 7 above) and if they take the actions recommended in Points 3 and 4 of Paper #9.
....
(j) Mobile phones and brain cancer: An explanation of the probable causal link between the use of mobile phones and brain cancer.
....
(k) Over-exposure to the Sun and skin cancers: An explanation of the causal link between over-exposure to the Sun and skin cancers.
...
(l) Marijuana: Marijuana is EXTREMELY harmful to health. Therefore, it most definitely should NOT be used for recreational purposes. In my view, even a single joint can be very dangerous. But marijuana should be used for those medical purposes for which it has been shown to be beneficial. I will explain a possible cure for the extremely harmful and enduring effects caused to those who smoke, or who have previously smoked, marijuana.
....
(m) Benefits of circumcising the penis: Our predecessor species were on all fours, and the penis on a male hung down (because of gravity) and was not covered by clothing. And so, the penis rarely became infected. But since we became bipedal and then began wearing underpants and trousers, the penis is much more likely to become infected, especially for males who live in hot or tropical climates or who do not bathe or shower on a regular basis. These infections are often transmitted to a sexual partner. In my view, because we are now bipedal and wear underpants and trousers, the circumcision of the penis is a very sensible thing to do. Because it is only the foreskin .. the loose skin that covers the head of the penis .. that is removed, there are no adverse effects for sex-drive or sexual pleasure.
....
(n) Skin problems: An explanation of the possible causes of a number of skin problems .. and thus the possible means for their cure and prevention.
....
(o) Dentistry: In my view, dentistry should become part of mainstream medical science .. in other words, dentists should be Doctors who have decided to specialise on the teeth, gums, jaw, tongue and mouth.
....
(p) Medical science's treatment of its young Doctors: Medical science does not look after its young Doctors in teaching hospitals. It unnecessarily imposes on them greatly excessive hours of work. As a result, these young Doctors have a significantly increased risk of developing a physical illness or a mental illness .. in particular, anxiety disorder, depression or bipolar disorder (see Paper #7). Medical science should change the way it treats its young Doctors in teaching hospitals.
....
(q) The body's self-healing powers: By medical science gaining a better understanding of our human evolution and thus how today's body actually works (see Paper #13), it will be possible for Doctors to give greater focus to the body’s self-healing powers and to the strengthening of these powers by using natural treatments. This will have the effect of reducing the current reliance on pharmaceutical products, many of which interfere with the body’s self-healing powers because they deal with symptoms rather than the root cause of the problem.
….
(r) Feet and hands .. a possible intake mechanism?: As explained in Point 4 of Paper #2 and Point 3 of Paper #4, our feet and hands are the MOST important of our key skin exit areas from which the body pushes out harmful microorganisms. I think it is possible (but am not sure) that our feet and hands may also have the ability to take in nutrients; because it is possible that the soles of the feet of our four-legged predecessor species (today’s two feet and two hands) did this and that we retain this same system today. As I say, I am not sure about the matter.
....
(s) Hygiene in hospitals: Today's hospitals carry with them a high risk of contracting an infection during, or soon after, the carrying out of a surgical procedure. Today's hospitals are sealed units .. the same as an aeroplane or a submarine, both of which are extremely unhealthy environments.
In days gone bye, hospitals had open windows and open-air verandahs .. the breeze blew through them .. and so they were much more hygienic than today's hospitals. And, in days gone bye, recovering patients were dressed in warm clothing, wrapped in blankets, and then placed on an open-air verandah or in nearby gardens.
These previous practices should be reembraced by today's hospitals. And, in my view, all surgical procedures should be carried out in open-air surgical theatres.
Related to this, today's hospitals have now become the most dangerous places on the planet in terms of the risk of contracting infections caused by antimicrobial resistant (AMR) microorganisms .. called "superbugs" by the media and the public.
This acute AMR problem in today's hospitals is the result of them, for many years, having used antimicrobial cleaning products and antimicrobial sterilisation products. Microorganisms have evolved, and will continue to evolve, in response to these products. The problem is a MOST serious and pressing one. See Paper #5.
This high AMR infection risk in hospitals applies to their patients, their visitors, and those who work there.
Hospitals should cease using antimicrobial cleaning products and antimicrobial sterilisation products .. other types of cleaning products and sterilisation products (including NEW ones) should be used .. and, as stated above, hospitals should also allow lots of fresh air to come into their buildings.
....
(t) Assumptions: Medical science and all other areas of science should, on a very regular basis, check all the assumptions (especially the unstated ones) upon which their body of knowledge is based.
By way of example, Doctors should not assume that different symptoms must be caused by different underlying root causes; because different symptoms can also be caused by the SAME underlying root cause .. see Points 3 and 4 of Paper #3.
….
(u) Unusual observations and apparent anomalies: Medical science and all other areas of science should investigate, and gain a correct understanding of, all unusual observations and all apparent anomalies .. because this often enables breakthroughs to be made.
By way of example, had medical science investigated:
(1) Why gargling with warm, salty (table salt) water often cures a sore throat, or
(2) Why, after oral surgery (for example, a tooth replacement), the dental surgeon tells patients to rinse out their mouth several times a day for two weeks with warm, salty (table salt) water,
medical science would then have realised that these procedures draw harmful microorganisms into the salty water, thereby curing or preventing an infection.
And medical science would then have realised it could apply the same principles to curing and preventing many diseases, infections, illnesses and other conditions .. refer to the explanation of the principles behind the bath procedure and basin procedure in Papers #2 and #3 (and also refer to Papers #4 and #5).
Also by way of example, had medical science investigated:
(1) Why the pubic hair on women runs straight across whereas the pubic hair on men does not do this but instead tapers up to our belly button (see Evidence E in Point 2 of Paper #6), or
(2) Why older men begin growing additional hair on our eyebrows, in our ears, on our ear lobes, and in our nostrils (see Evidence H in Point 2 of Paper #6),
medical science would then have realised that all of the hair on today's body is an INTAKE mechanism, for the taking in of nutrients to certain internal parts of the body that are located near the hair. See Paper #6.
And medical science would then have realised that we should not apply toxic products to our head hair, other hair or skin (most of our skin is covered by very fine hair) because the toxins are then taken into the body via the hair; and that we should instead apply to our head hair, other hair and skin (because most of our skin is covered by very fine hair) anything we can safely eat or drink, the more nutritious the better, so that the nutrients can then be taken in, via the hair, for the relevant internal part of the body located near the hair. See Paper #6.
....
(v) New products: In relation to the ideas in these papers that are confirmed by medical science to be correct, the features of many of the NEW products that will, as a consequence, be developed by medical research institutes, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare companies, cosmetic companies and other companies.
....
(w) Increasing brain power: A number of ideas on how intellectual capability and brain functioning generally .. that is, brain power .. might be increased with each successive generation.
....
(x) Increasing healthy longevity: A number of ideas on how healthy longevity might be increased with each successive generation.
....
(y) Redesign of medical courses: An explanation of my views on how medical courses should be redesigned so that:
(1) The courses give students a proper understanding of our human evolution .. that is, a proper understanding of the evolution of each of the parts, systems and processes of today's body .. see Paper #13, and
(2) The courses produce Doctors who have open and enquiring minds and a thirst for NEW knowledge. Although medical science has made great advances over approximately the last 200 years, it still knows very little about the human body and how it works .. most probably a lot less than 1% of all the knowledge that is required to have a full understanding. So a thirst for NEW knowledge is essential.
I am confident this redesign of medical courses would result in medical science finding answers to many of today's unsolved health problems.
....
(z) Government policies: An explanation of the policies that could be adopted and implemented by the governments of developed countries* which would cause people to make lifestyle changes in order to improve their health .. resulting in significant economic benefits for these countries, as well as significant health benefits for their citizens.
*Note: Policies could also be adopted and implemented by non-developed countries .. but these policies would be different from the ones for developed countries.
....
And MUCH more ...
....
As stated, the above list of additional matters (with information on some of them roughly sketched) is a DRAFT only .. and, when time permits, I will add to the papers a full explanation of these matters as well as a full explanation of the other matters to which I have given thought but have not yet included in the papers.
............
12. Need for medical research .. Point 11 above:
To the extent that I have explained (in DRAFT form only) some of the ideas in Point 11 above, they are novel and have not yet been examined and tested by medical science.
It is my hope that these ideas will soon be examined and tested by medical research institutes, hospitals, university medical schools, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare companies, cosmetic companies, cigarette companies (in relation to Points 11(c) and 11(i) above), cleaning products companies and sterilisation products companies (in relation to Point 11(s) above), and other organisations.
............
13. Risk of possible adverse side-effects:
For all treatments recommended in this Paper #12, I repeat the warning in Point 3 of Paper #1:
"Almost all medical treatments carry with them the risk of possible adverse side-effects, either for all people or just for some people.
It is therefore VERY important that, before carrying out any of the treatments recommended in the papers, you first check with your Doctor that it will be safe for you to do.
This is especially important if you are very ill, if you are pregnant or might be pregnant, if you are elderly, or if you are taking any prescribed medication.
I am not a Doctor. And, as we all know, medical science is extremely complex. So, please make sure you first check with your Doctor before carrying out any of the recommended treatments.
And if, after commencing a treatment, you believe it might be causing an adverse side-effect, you should immediately stop the treatment and check with your Doctor."
............
That concludes Paper #12.
Next is Paper #13, in which I deal with medical science and evolution.
Please go to Paper #13 ...
